PlanetLabPlanetLab was a global research network that supported the creation of new network services. Since first coming on-line in mid-2002, over 9,000 researchers at Universities and research labs around the world used PlanetLab to develop technologies for distributed storage, content distribution, peer-to-peer systems, distributed hash tables, query processing, and network telemetry. At its peak, PlanetLab consisted of 1353 nodes at 717 sites spanning 48 countries.
